Along with a gang of homeless children, they are hiding out at an old cinema and are cared for by a boy who has named himself the Thief Lord. This novel has won the Zurich Children's book award and the Children's book award given by the Vienna House of Literature. A lovely copy of this work, which has since been adapted into a film.
