The IOW festival was the largest European Festival and the 1970 rendition was literlaly an all-star lineup featuring many global superstars of the time - Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and The Who were obvious reason enough to attendand, but the three-day gig also inclued such industry heavyweights as Miles Davis, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Chicago, Joan Baez and Moody Blues. Unfortunately, this festival was the last UK perfromance by Hendrix and Jim Morrison. A wonderful artifact as the swinging sixties were left behind and the seventies were kicked off with a spectular musical event.
