Written in 1966, Tarantula is a collection of poems and prose that evokes the turbulence of the times in which it was written, and gives a unique insight into Dylan's creative evolution. The delay in the publication of Tarantula was due to a motorcycle accident experienced by Dylan in 1966; a number of pirated versions of the book such as this one were printed prior to the 1971 issue date.
