August, 1969. 11 1/2" x 15 1/2". 16pp. Ann Arbor Argus Blues Festival Program. VERY GOOD; RARE.

Amazing lineup of Blues performers for this three-day festival. Otis Rush, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Watters, T-Bone, James Cotton, Big Mama Thornton, John Estes and more. his is the Ann Arbor Argus version. Argus was the counterculture newspaper which was closely associated with the anti-racist white panthers and Students for a Democratic Society. It was a member of the Underground Press Service and Liberation News Service. This issue was solely devoted to the Ann Arbor Blues Festival and was given away for free as an alternative to programs sold for money. The festival was put together by a few Michigan college students to better educate people about the blues. After being provided with a list of record stores and clubs, along with phone numbers and addresses, the first ever North American blues festival was born.
