Brilliantly rendered by prolific artist of children's books, Michael Foreman, this piece of original art perfectly maps the legendary Bob Dylan's influences and those he influenced. The painting shows Dylan's face, sunglasses and all, as the trunk of a massive tree, stemming from roots that end in the names Pete Seeger, Chuck Berry, Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Bertholt Brecht, Allen Ginsberg and others, while the branches hold birds adorned with names of his contemporaries he'd inspired, including Leonard Cohen, the Byrds, the Turtles, and Phil Ochs. The background is a green field with a train and big city skyline, all beneath a bright blue sky. Wonderfully imaginative, and filled with easily interpreted symbolism.
