Justice -- 1974 [Pinback]
No printer, place or date. Presumed circa 1974. ~1 ¾ inches in diameter. Locking style back.
A pinback bringing attention to the police killing of 14 year old Tyrone Guyton. Guyton was a Black teenager involved in a high speed chase after allegedly stealing a vehicle. While fleeing the scene, three Emeryville, California police detectives shot Guyton in the back. While they asserted he fired on them, an ATF investigation found no evidence supporting that claim. A grand jury refused to indict the officers involved, leading Tyrone's mother, Mattie Guyton Shepard, with support from the Black Panther Party and local Black community activists, to organize in an effort to find the truth. GOOD condition. Minor scuffing, toning and a few dings to the face. Heavy rusting to the reverse.
