The Moor's Sigh was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 1995, and won in the same year the Whitbread Prize for Best Novel and the Aristeion Prize in 1996. Moraes Zogoiby has a body that ages twice as fast as normal; he narrates the story of his family over four generations, & focusses on the relationship of the women in his life, especially his mother.
