The L.A. Beat was a Los Angeles fanzine founded and published by Stephen Zepeda, who also founded Beat Records and worked as a music promoter in Long Beach, California. The zine covered punk, new wave and rock acts, both local and national. In this issue: The Furys, the Stranglers, Generation X, Devo, Mink DeVille, Sex Pistols and the Mumps, among others.
