The dust wrapper is bright, with some sunbathing and minor chipping. Includes a tipped in AUTOGRAPH of the author. First edition of this 1950s children's classic about a young married couple with Dalmatians whose canine family grows, quite by accident, to 101. The story immediately captured readers with its delightfully evil villain, Cruella de Vil, as well as its imaginative depiction of the social life of dogs. Walt Disney Studios acquired the rights and turned the story into a very successful feature-length film in 1961.
