Book is in great shape with no marks or inscriptions; spine gilt a bit dulled, some toning to the text block and a small bookseller’s ticket on the rear paste-down. Wrapper is bright, with modest chipping at the spine ends, and toning on the reverse. A superior copy of Guthrie’s iconic book.
Autobiography by one of America’s greatest songwriters, served as the basis for the Hal Ashby film starring David Carradine. Bob Dylan, in his autobiography Chronicles, recounts reading Bound for Glory for the first time: "I went through it from cover to cover like a hurricane, totally focused on every word, and the book sang out to me like the radio…a hell of a book”.
