- Description
1971. Yellow variant. A poster with news and information on the Oz trial on one side and on the other an announce- ment of the ‘Independence Day Carnival - A Celebration of People’s Rights’ organized by the ‘Friends of Oz’ to be held in Hyde Park on July 4th, 1971. Illustrated with a cartoon illustration by Alain Le Saux. UNCOMMON.
The text on the obscenity trial argues that it is not just Oz “on trial at the Old Bailey, it is in fact an entire community which is being prosecuted”, and concludes that “The eunuch prime minister [Ted Heath] and his repressed harem of cabinet ministers have created a climate which is stifling every new expression of sexual, political and cultural freedom.” VERY GOOD; wrinkles, general wear.
