An excellent example of the multi-talented musician, author and artist's second book following 'In His Own Write'. The title refers to a pun on the term "A spanner in the works" (analogous to the American English expression, "throw a monkey wrench", a spanner being British English for wrench); another fragment of Lennon's humour.
