The Lorien Legacies is a series of science fiction books written by James Frey and Jobie Hughs under the pen name of Pittacus Lore. The first novel of the series, I am Number Four, was released in 2010 and spent seven weeks in the top position of the New York Times Bestselling list; a feature film was released in February 2011. The seven-book series follow the story of nine human-looking aliens brought to Earth when they were six years old. Their purpose is to grow into their powers and return to their planet, Lorien, and regain control from the evil Mogadorians.
