Thought Crime -- Issue #1
Thought Crime. Issue #1. 32pp. No Place: No Publisher, 2005. Side folding zine. Black and white illustrations throughout.
First issue of this political zine, republishing articles from other sources. Essays reflect on George W. Bush's presidency and its foreign policy, positing that it is a continuation of a fascist tendency in American politics prvalent in both Democrat and Republican politicians. With a reprinted piece on punk rock love by Cometbus, as well as an essay by Jeff 'Free' Luers, who helped establish Red Cloud Thunder, an organization that staged tree sitting protests over logging in Oregon. Luers served a 10 year prison sentence for arson for burning three SUVs in an act of environmental protest. VERY GOOD.
